Ana Teresa (PhD) is CEO HeartGenetics, Genetics and Biotechnology SA, since 2013. She was co-founder/shareholder of HeartGenetics until 2020, when the company became part of the Italian group ImpactLab Srl.

She is Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, developing the field of computational biology since 2005. She is currently president of the School Assembly at IST (2021-2024).

She holds a PhD in Computer and Electrical Engineering. She attended the Advanced Management Program on Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Católica Lisbon – BES, School of Business and Economics.

In the European context, she was Vice-chair of ELIXIR infrastructure, the reference infrastructure for data management in the life sciences.
