Avelino Ormonde, 60 years old, has been dedicated to the study and practice of ecological agriculture for twenty-eight years. It promotes awareness-raising and training actions for ecological gardens in organic production mode. He owns the company, Biofontinhas “The Art of Balance”, in the parish of Fontinhas, in the municipality of Praia da Vitoria, Terceira Island. It aims to produce foods of high nutritional value, more balanced, without harmful residues and therefore much HEALTHIER.

It produces about 100 cultivars of leafy plants, roots, rhizomes, aromatic herbs and some edible flowers. Continuously investigate new cultivars that are of interest to salads. Also, it is always at the forefront in the research of alternative systems to develop a production line based on quality and originality, aimed essentially at the top hotel and restaurants, as well as demanding customers.
